Winter seed

How does your winter garden grow?

After a long, unusually warm and colorful autumm this year, winter has finally arrived in  northern Europe. Most trees have shed their leaves, veggies and flowers have gone to seed, and night temperatures are dipping below zero.

Those of you who got some winter seeds in over the past few months are probably feeling pretty pleased! Although growth in the cold snaps will be slow, you should be able to harvest fresh vegetables from your garden, rooftop or balcony even in the deep of winter.

Here is some dirt on the individual plants contained in CityPlot’s Winter 01 package: their cultural and historical roots, nutritional information, and ideas for how to turn them into something  delicious in your kitchen. The Winter 01 package contains seeds for the following crops:
Lamb’s Lettuce
Chervil
Rammenas (Black Radish)
Bok Choy
Swiss Rhubarb Chard
Winter Purslane
