Why we do it
DILEMMA: Our severed connection with nature’s cycle’s.
It has been established that the majority of our human population are city dwellers and that this percentage is ever increasing. Whilst this compact style of living can potentially make it easier for us to achieve certain environmental goals, it also means that we can quickly become removed from the fundamental importance nature’s cycle’s play within our lives. It is easy for us to lose vision of, or even ignore the bigger picture. Through becoming more aware of and involved with these cycles of nature and our food sources, we embark on a healing process with ourselves, each other and our natural surroundings – and through this, with Planet Earth.
STRATEGY: Assisting people directly and indirectly.
Greater awareness can be achieved in many ways. Deep down, everybody knows that mankind has been too exploitative, too much of a burden on Mother Nature. Simply by reading this text, you are joining a collective of people who realize that there is an urgent necessity to protect the Earth and that we can take the first steps to action by acting locally. Cityplot does this, by focusing on all plant life (edible, ornamental and wild) which play an essential role in our physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
BENEFITS: Feel good, become healthier, help our Planet live longer!
A selection of what we wish to achieve: Peace of mind. You will be healthier and happier. You will be more relaxed. You’ll learn to go with nature’s flow. Your children will learn to respect nature and how to grow plants from seed. You’ll probably make new friends. Very possibly you’ll even be left with a little extra pocket-money at the end of the month.
For these reasons, Cityplot aims to motivate city citizens to GARDEN, by heightening awareness of nature’s cycles in urban areas and by encouraging and supporting you in your gardening and botanical endeavours.
