Ever wonder how you can preserve food and reduce food waste by making something yummy?
During this fun, hands-on session you will learn the art of quick pickling with Amy! All are welcome—whether you’ve never pickled anything at all or just want a refresher, this workshop is a relaxed and friendly space to dive in.
Together, we’ll cover:
What pickling is and how it works
A little history and the simple science behind pickling
Why we pickle—think flavoUr, preserving seasonal produce, and cutting down on food waste
Examples of ingredients we will be using to pickle: cucumbers, carrots, cauliflowers/green beans, herbs from the garden such as oregano, summer savory, thyme, rosemary, and dill. And yes, you’ll get to bring your homemade pickles home with you!
